BitchSlap!

Darrin Hagen

Playwright/Sound Designer/Miss Crawford

Darrin is an award-winning writer, composer, actor, television host, as well as Canada’s most notorious drag performer. In 2003 Hagen became the first Drag Queen in Canada to host a national television series, and was honoured with the Rosie Award (AMPIA) for best Male Host, for Who’s On Top?. He has been awarded 5 Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards for his work in Edmonton Theatre. For Guys In Disguise, specialists in cross-dressing comedies, he was created fourteen pieces of theatre that have been produced across Canada and in the U.S. In 2005, Hagen was named as one of 100 Edmontonians of the Century for the city’s centennial anniversary celebrations. His name came alphabetically right after Wayne Gretzky’s. To the best of his knowledge, he’s the only Drag Queen on that list.

Trevor Schmidt

Director/Miss Davis

Trevor is delighted to be back! BitchSlap! is officially the third show he has done with Guys In Disguise, but it's the one he keeps coming back to, over and over around the globe. He made his Guys In Disguise debut as the evil Rose Thorne in Tranne Of Green Gables, and then did double duty as Hitler and Goebbels in The Neo-Nancies: Hitler's Kickline. He was most recently seen as a continuing member of the Loud & Queer Players at the Sweet Sixteen edition of the Loud & Queer Cabaret for the seventh (?) or eighth (?) time, and The Busy World Is Hushed for Northern Light Theatre. Recent directing credits include Effie's Burning, Crooked and The World's Wife (at Fringe 2007), Dinner With Friends (Theatre Buffet at the Roxy), Fat Pig (Sterling nomination) for Northern Light, where he continues as Artistic Director. He has received nominations in costume and set design, directing, acting, co-op or collective production, and playwrighting (for which he received the award for The Watermelon Girls). His Tales From The Hospital has been published in an anthology entitled Exploring Alternative Albertas. Special thanks to Gina Puntil for the heels, Darrin for the role, and Davina…well, just because.
